About Us

MEDORIS was established in 2001 as the healthcare division of Heavebury Ltd, a successful textile company founded in 1981. Based upon the directors’ experience of elderly care and their knowledge of sourcing textiles worldwide, MEDORIS is now a leading supplier of specialist care products. In 2003 its founder, Brenda Currill, became Care Innovator of the Year for the range of specialist care nightwear. These highly acclaimed care products incorporated designs for comfort and dignity.

In 2005 the very popular and innovative design-registered Catchkin ‘napkin’ bib was developed as a dignified alternative to the conventional tartan bib. Used extensively in care and nursing homes and by families, it is also bought by a large catalogue based company.

In 2006 MEDORIS gained approval to supply the NHS with its washable bed pads (‘kylies’). Again MEDORIS improved this area of healthcare which now includes 11 products for incontinence care and also covering urostomy, bariatric and palliative care.

In 2007 and 2008 MEDORIS launched over 20 new products designed to expand the key areas of elderly care with its dementia products, adaptive clothing and PEG feeding product range.

However, the highlight of 2008 was Brenda winning her second Care Innovator of the Year award for the unique range of positioning and pressure care products, now also accepted by the NHS Supply Chain.

The MEDORIS product range now boasts over 150 products that are being used throughout the UK, Europe and America in care homes, learning disabilities homes and by the general public.
